Current Music:Time and Confusion by Anberlin
Subject:Long Wait Over!
Time:01:27 am
Current Mood:[mood icon] finally off for the holidays!
Today is the god of all stress days:

I've always loved seeing the view from Matteo Ricci in the morning when there's not much people around. You get to appreciate the beauty and simplicity that this picture doesn't even capture that well. Matteo is really best in the morning and at night when it's properly lighted :)

But that's not the reason why I was in Ateneo at 730 AM despite my Marketing class at that time held as a free cut. I had to force myself to school because I have to study better for my Finance and Theology exams, from the afternoon to evening, which I just slept on last night. Should I stay longer home, I'll probably end up sleeping some more.

I literally opened Matteo. My second time this semester. Good Lord I wasn't alone though. I allowed about ten excited students to get inside before I actually did.

The studying went on for a good couple of hours or so, non-consecutively, during the day. I tried to memorize for Theology but settled for re-reading my notes three times. I really hate memorizing--sucks out the fun in learning.

Kim says she's all sleepy and tired. I say, I've always been sleepier and more tired than she claims herself to be! She almost always promises herself eight hours of sleep in a day--I'd be lucky to have even half of her sleeping time.

Maxine and her fan girl smile. Well, we spotted the Chris Tiu again and while I am overly-excited about it, I feel in my veins that Max is 0.00001 more excited than I was.

Kath: Where is he seated?
Max: At the back part. Rows behind us.
*looks for him and realizes my course mate is sitting behind him*
Kath: OMG. I am totally going to kill her... now!

Max: I told you, you should have stayed in the seat I reserved for you. Then you'll have the reason to turn to Kim Go and see Chris at the back!
Kath: Max naman, banlag na banlag naman dating ko nun.

Oh and this is Big before our Theology long exam. She looks happy and confident--she doesn't know anything about our exam at all :))

The Theology exam though was unbelievably easy. I actually thought it was the beginning of my death sentence for the long day ahead but I was fortunate enough that my no to memorizing and yes to reread your notes tactic worked well enough for me. I hope I get a decent grade with it :)

We were back to Matteo after the exam to review, finally, for Finance. Unsurprisingly though, there weren't any tables left so we were stuck in the steps for a few minutes until we finally got ourselves spots inside the study hall. Max and I, most especially, were getting the hang of Finance--all the annual percentage rates, ratios, and forecasting methods, until in the middle of my cash budgeting, the Chinese looking guard Iya and I both love to hate came inside the study hall and shouted, "Kailangan niyo nang umalis lahat in three minutes." WHAT? Major disbelief, much? I felt like an evacuee of a soon to be abolished squatter area!

The evacuees in action. Lahat yan magfi-Finance test sa gabi! Haha. In desperate attempts to find a new place to study for the remaining one and a half hour left, we found ourselves (Max and I) landing in the South bench at SEC B. We had nowhere to write so we moved to an empty room at CTC.

Soon, we found ourselves back to Escaler and by 6PM, we all had the "time of our lives". The Finance exam was the most amazing I ever had *puke here*. And because I manage my time well, I was able to finish way ahead of time:

45 minutes: answer
15 minutes: stare
10 minutes: listening to Ms. Pong ranting to students "Nako wag niyo kong tanungin diyan. Wala akong kaalam-alam sa Finance niyo!"
20 minutes: solving again
20 minutes: shotgun answers
10 minutes: stare
40 minutes: a mix among doodling, humming, computing, saying "Shit I'm gonna die", and exchanging sign language and smirks with Lia of the infamous tapos-ka-na-ba-hindi-pa-pero-ayoko-na syndrome
10 minutes: praying that somebody I know pass his/her paper so I won't be alone outside the hall waiting for someone to talk to
last 10 minutes: Camille finally hands in her paper... and finally so do I.

It was freakish but I'm just so glad it's over.

----

I received presents today :)

From Ana, obviously. By the way, hindi design yang parang flower sa bandang left. I guess it's a potpourri because when I opened the gift box, wow pare. Parang may car freshener eh. Actually, box freshener pala in this case :) Thanks, Anatuts! Pero I was expecting a bigger gift box. One that could probably fit a "tall cunning creature" inside . HAHAHA!

And from Naj :) She had her super advanced debut and she gave me this from her party :) Aww. Thanks Naj and I really wish you well in France. I'm still inggit. Haha! Keep us posted when you're there already :)

Oh and finally, FREEDOM!

If you were born before 1993, then this survey should be easy for you to fill out!
If you're not, dont even bother, you'll just be confused!

1. What year were you born in?
-- 1988

2. What Spice Girl were you when you were young?

-- Sporty Spice and I defended her for being the prettiest. I now weird myself out whenever I remember how ugly Sporty Spice was before and how I was able to defend her so much! Haha

3. Backstreet boys or NSYNC?
-- NSYNC because they dance way better than Backstreet Boys (and I like their songs better). Should they do a reunion concert here in Manila, I'd sell all I have to get the best seat possible =P

4. Did you watch S Club 7?
-- Oh yes. I watched the series a whole lot (sung and danced with them too!)

5. What was your favorite, Sandlot or Little Rascals?
-- Neither.

6. Did you ever have light up sneakers?

-- No because I didn't think red lights in my sneakers looked cool. I'm fine with my Barbie sneakers :)

7. What was your favorite thing about recess?
-- I get to run around and play and be Pink Ranger for thirty minutes. Haha

8. Cinderella or Snow White?
-- Cinderella.

9. Did you wake up really early just to watch cartoons on Saturday morning?

-- No. I'm not a deprived kid anyway. And I wasn't a big fan of cartoons. I do watch shows on TV but not to the point that I'd overload myself with 'em.

10. What was your favorite holiday?

-- Christmas! Because I ALWAYS got what I wish for.

11. Did you ever try to stay up on Christmas just so you could see Santa?
-- Yes. But that didn't work out too well :))

12. What grade did you like the best?
-- I'm not so sure. But it should be 6th Grade if only for the clearance week =P

13. Ninja Turtles or Power Rangers?
-- Definitely Power Rangers. But Ninja Turtles also give me a good fix of cartoon show satisfaction on Friday nights (Ooh. How much television has changed, eh? I used to watch Power Rangers and Ninja Turtles on Channel 2 at 8PM!)

14. What Power Ranger were you?
-- I always wanted being Pink Ranger but I once gave that up because I wanted to be different so I chose Yellow Ranger instead.

15. Did you ever own a Chinese jump rope?
-- Oh I've a lot :)

16. What was your favorite thing to eat?

-- Sandwich

17. What was your favorite color?

-- I don't remember. Maybe because I had none. Or because I had no conscious effort to have one. But I remember putting all colors of the rainbow in my friends' slambooks when asked what my favorite colors are. HAHA!

18. Barney or Sesame street?

-- Sesame Street! It was only when Kim was born in 1999 that I started liking Barney. We have all the Barney CD's humanely possible to be attained, swear! I love you, you love me. We're a happy family...

19. Do you ever miss being a little kid?
-- Yes. Innocence is sometimes good--you're excused from committing certain mistakes and from being careless/carefree.

20. Do you wish you were older?
-- No, I'm fine being here in my ground. I don't think I'd be ready should I wish for that. At least not yet.

21. What was your first pets name?
-- Goldie. A goldfish who died 24 hours after I bought it. I didn't buy any pet after because I never had the patience to take care of one.

22. Who was your best friend in kindergarten?
-- Regina Cuevas

23. Are you still friends with the person you were best friends with in the 3rd grade?

-- No, not anymore. I'm still friends though with my best friend in 1st grade if that could make up for this :)

24. Where did you live when you were 9?
-- Manila

25. What was your all time favorite movie?

-- Mulan. HAHA! But that wasn't shown before 1993, was it?

26. Which did you like 'Are You Afraid Of The Dark' or 'AHH! Real Monsters?
-- Are You Afraid of the Dark

27. Did you watch Rockos Modern Life?
-- No

28. Who was your favorite Rugrat?

-- Angelica. Because I was that bratty before =P

29. Do you own a tamagochi?
-- I killed a real goldfish in roughly a day and you expect me to take care of a tamagochi? Hah. Not humanly possible.

This is what we "allowed" to happen:

So there goes another explosion in our "dear" country.

One moment you're shopping for a new set of wardrobe and then the next, you find yourself amidst a chaotic crowd running for their lives.

As I was watching the breaking news over ABS-CBN (and then later on to watch the blow-by-blow account in ANC), I can't help but feel some sort of havoc inside me. Do I feel sad or do I get mad? Of course, feeling sad (and to an extent, depressed) for the people whose lives have been severely damaged is a given. Should you have been more attentive to the news yesterday and got to watch all the live takes on the event in some channel, you'd see just how unrecognizable Glorietta 2 has become! Glasses were shattered everywhere (some landing on the ground, others, unfortunately, landing on human bodies), ceilings falling off, and cars exploding. After the explosion, a massive amount of crowd headed for the parking lots in hopes of getting away from modern-day hell in an instant. Much to their dismay, they couldn't. The exits (and there weren't much since the exit points of Glorietta 2 was affected by the explosion) were blocked off by ambulance vehicles. They waited for hours and even much to their disappointment, they couldn't drive their cars home--yes, they had to leave behind their vehicles in the parking lot.

It's so affecting you sometimes choke up from the news and not even a one-hour siesta could possibly help you get over. And I guess it's just me (always) thinking that "I could've been there. It could've been me."

But after the sympathy has been attended to, I can't help but feel angry towards the people in that place at that time! Since the source of the explosion has yet to be identified, we can't pinnpoint anyone just yet. But should it be another bombing (because they already said yesterday that there weren't any traces or smell of gas that might have triggered the huge explosion), all I can say is, "Wow. Wala nang matitira sa Pilipinas."

What are the security guards for anyway? Such a sleezy action of putting in their sticks inside our bags without even knowing what they are looking for! Tell me, how do you expect to find a bomb inside a big bag full of things when all you do is just stick that wooden thing inside and pull it out even before the end of the stick hits the bottom of the bag! And what's up with the, "Ma'am, pakibukas po yung trunk" whenever we get to the parking lot when they just open the trunk for the sake of doing so? SOP. Standard Operating Procedures. Protocols. Why don't you put meaning in these SOP's? Sheesh. Protocol my ass!

But we can't blame it on the security guards alone. We are also stubborn and no-less than apathetic individuals who enter the malls without presenting our bags for inspection or feel inis whenever we're asked to open our trunks. I mean really, how big of a deal is it to open the zipper of your bag or to pull that thing on the side of the driver's seat to open the trunk? Hassle? Oh come on. If that's such a hassle, how would you call an explosion that may have resulted because we are too apathetic and hassled by following simple inspection rules?

Over and above, we suffer because we allow ourselves to suffer. Walang matira-tira sa Pilipinas dahil wala tayong ginagawa para may matira pa satin. We're all furious whenever other countries look down on us, but how do you not look down on a country run by apathy and carelessness? We only worry when the trouble is here. We only become strict with ourselves days after such occurences. But what happens in the long run? We turn back into our usual apathetic selves. So I guess the more appropriate thing to ask myself is not if I feel sad or mad towards the event. Rather, I think I need to ask myself (and maybe you should too) this: "Is there still hope for my country?"

How many bombings have we experienced in years? We've experienced explosions (literally and figuratively) in the government and in our country. And everytime it happens, we always say, "This is a reality check for us to be more aware of what is happening around us." But really, we say this every after bombing, every after terrorism attack, every after corruption issue! So tell me, how many reality checks do we, Filipinos, really need to finally understand reality?

It's so sad nobody even cares to right about this (so far, I've only seen three) but when it comes to other things, say an Ateneo-La Salle game, even the non-blogger would take the time to type down, "We won. In your face *insert losing team here*!" Apathy, until when, people? Until when?

Right this minute, the source of the explosion is yet to be known. Bombing? Gas leak? It doesn't matter. The big damage has been done-- and no, I'm not just talking about the extremely wrecked Glorietta 2, rather, the nine (and the numbers just keep on escalating) people who have lost their lives, the approximately 120 people whose lives have almost been taken away, the 10 people who are still missing, and the thousand other young lives who have been put in great risk-- these are the greater damages. Damages that no form of reconstruction or bag of money could ever negotiate for rearranging. So on your way out later, don't forget to say one for Him. After all, life goes on after, right? Now if only we know what it means to go on with life.

read this!!! haha got your attention? yay!

GUYS! buy your parents' or relatives' christmas gifts from me,maiqui, or tanya!

we'll be selling baller bands at 120 pesos each, and ALL (yes all) the proceeds will be going to bicol.

why bicol?

last year, more than 25,000 families lost their homes during typhoon reming. now, one year later, there are STILL so many families that have NO HOMES AND BASIC NECESSITIES. some areas have NO ELECTRICITY AND NO RUNNING WATER. unbelievable right? how in the world...

but see that's where we come in. we can change that. at least a little.

our goal is to raise 100k by Christmas, so we'll be able to give 10 families decent homes. 10k lang per house! that's not even a good cellphone!

so yeah, the ballers are in the process of being made but they should be done by first week of november.

they come with a card that says "a donation has been made in your name to help rebuild, etc etc" please contact us if you're interested. ym, lj, text,PM...  the ballers are black with white writing. angas naman e. haha and you know how you never know what to give your parents and grandparents? this totally solves that, and for sure they'll appreciate it. or if your parents wanna get, or whoever, please spread the word.

we all need a little good karma right? let's help out!

extend a helping hand, people :) don't wait for nica's "promotional plan" to push through (hopefully in due time) or you might all be in a hurry to grab, at the very least, a dozen! christmas is around the corner. your P120 will go a very long way.

Subject:The Underdogs

Much has been said... or maybe not? After all, who could say much after you find yourself with the need to accept that the game you are watching will be the last for the season?

Even when Nonoy hit the last trey of the team in the dying seconds of the game, I actually thought it wasn't enough to get us into the finals. This day, the ball just wasn't ours. And it hurts because you never enter the Big Dome thinking it will be your final game to watch. But the dices have rolled and the results didn't favor us. What more can we do?

As we sang our school hymn, there wasn't disbelief in my face for I know the ball could have gone either way for two teams excessively equally leveled-- only the face of sadness and disappointment that we could have gone farther. But whenever I remember the faces of the people who doubted our entry in the final four, I give myself a pat on the back and say "Hey! If they said fifth and sixth was the best we'd go, we've already proven them wrong by landing in third." We've gone beyond expectations and we've gone beyond ourselves. If there was any team in this league that has gone through the worst and best times, it would be us. We suffered three straight losses and even lost the chance for the twice to beat advantage when we suffered a loss from NU. These losses were daggers in our hearts. But we picked ourselves up and dusted the chip off our shoulders.

We won five straight games after the three straight losses and pushed the season with UST and La Salle in three Do or Die Games. We are the only team this season that pushed for THREE STRAIGHT DO OR DIE GAMES. We may have fallen short in the last one, but I guess going through these needle eyes are enough to let non-believers know we have reached great heights.

As the players headed for the dugout, we rushed for the Church of Gesu and share the night with the team for the Thanksgiving Mass. "Save perhaps for a few moments, one might have come away thinking that the team had won. Unlike last year where some of the speeches by the graduating players choked everyone up, Ford Arao and Zion Laterre found the courage to face the crowd and make people laugh." Tattered Atenean hearts were sewn in Gesu. And the mass turned out to be what it should be: to give hope. We are coming back next year with the same line-up minus our graduating players, Ford and Zion. With the addition of exceptional new players, I believe we are good to go. We are the underdogs and we have gone this far. The underdogs will be back next season and we will go beyond than what we've reached today.

"It was a most unlikely season, a rollercoaster ride of ups and downs, but they gave us hope and something to cheer for, and good many pleasant memories…
… there was Ford Arao who finally arrived and was a rock underneath,
… there was Chris Tiu who was Mr. Last Two Minutes and added his name to our long line of great Ateneo shooting guards,
… there was Zion Laterre, super sub supreme who gave us second chances to win,
… there were the surprise newbie packages in Nonoy Baclao and Kirk Long who will go on to form the foundation of a great Blue Eagle team to come,
… there were the stars in the waiting in Yuri Escueta, Jobe Nkemakolam, and Eric Salamat who were magic,
… there were those thrilling final buzzer wins against Adamson, La Salle, and UST that we’ll be talking about for years,
… there was the Blue Babble Battalion who were like a badly-needed shot of adrenaline to the team and the crowd,
… and there was coach Norman Black. To paraphrase a line in the movie Remember the Titans, you’re not just a basketball coach, you are our coach!

And I believe that if the Blue Eagles were to play the Green Archers again in a field of fair play, they’re going to whoop them any time any place."

One of my Lasallian friends mockingly messaged me in YM last night: "O ano, masarap parin ba maging Atenista?" And I thought what a lame way of putting things in the right perspective. So I replied: "Oo. Masarap na masarap parin. Kasi hindi namin sinusukat yung pusong Atenista sa isang basketball game. Ikaw? Ngayon lang ba sumarap ang pagiging Lasalista?"

I predicted for a Championship this season. It's all over my Multiply. And I am not at the very least ashamed even if we didn't make it there. This season has been magnificent and all I could tell the Lord was "Thank You." This season taught me how it is to be driven and passionate in the things I do. It's true what Fr. Ben said in the mass, "You can treat this basketball game as a way of life." Getting tickets was hell but because we wanted it, we had to form connections for ourselves. We explored the black market and explored what friendships can do. With every watched game, we gain friends in our fellow Ateneans who believed with us and this season has brought me more joy than pain. If not for this, I wouldn't have met my game girlfriends and known them even more. Nothing was ever made easy for us but we got through all the trips to heart attack country together.

So we fell up short... again. But for Underdogs, we didn't do so bad. Maybe our purpose is not to get the title. Maybe, our purpose was to get back at UST (which we did). Haha! But seriously, what could our purpose be?

Maybe, to show the leagues what it's really like to play with heart.

So cheer up and get yourselves together. We only lost the title but we have everything else to gain. There will always be reason to believe. ATENEO, One Big Fight!

The Secret Lives of Wonder Gil and Tiuperman

by KATHLEEN E. CHAN

Published: September 2007 Issue of alt+G (The Guidon's Lifestyle E-Zine)

Some see them as idols, others as campus heartthrobs, and others as our modern-day superheroes. With their overflowing talents, these Ateneans seem to be continually on a roll as they share what other things they do!

The young baker-cum-entrepreneur

Nikki Gil (IV AB Lit-Eng) arrived on the entertainment scene when she handed out bottles of Coke to random people in the street while singing that catchy jingle. Today, we know her as a singer-host-actress on ABS-CBN. But did you know that she used to be a baker-entrepreneur, too?

Nikki got into the world of baking because of her mom’s cooking, as she complemented it with her desserts. It all began with her original concoction of mocha-flavored scrambled egg, which led her to take baking seriously.

Nikki started a small business in high school which was funded by her Christmas aguinaldos. Selling oatmeal and chocolate chip cookies, among others, Nikki accepted orders from family and friends. Her products became so well-loved that some people even ordered in bulk. Creatively packaging each dozen, she took pride in every product sold.

And while she still considers singing her passion, she wouldn’t turn down the opportunity to pick up from where she left off after high school. For her, there’s a different kind of fulfillment in baking. “Because in singing, you don’t get a pat on the back for a job well done. You’re expected to do great,” she says. “But in baking, there’s always that appreciation of ‘Hey, that was really good!’”

Of golf clubs and ivories

Hearing “Chris Tiuuu… three!” is good enough to make every Atenean believe that the game is over. Chris Tiu (V BSM AMF) is known for making hearts stop from beating every time he hits a trey, but does he continue to impress even outside the court?

Aside from basketball, Chris has a long list of other sports he enjoys—golf, swimming, table tennis, and badminton, for starters. However, it is golf which he considers as his second sport, thanks to his dad. While he could play serious golf if he wants to—he has participated in small invitational tournaments—he says that he usually does it only to unwind and enjoy nature.

Beyond sports, Chris also loves music and playing the piano. He had formal education in playing the ivories when he was seven, but stopped at 13 because he didn’t enjoy learning classical pieces.

“I can’t really play any classical music, which is quite disappointing,” he says. “But I guess you can’t have everything.” Instead, he took the initiative to independently learn pieces he likes just by listening and playing.

Today, he plays a lot of Broadway pieces like Phantom of the Opera. But when asked about recitals, he was quick to say that he never joined any because he was too shy to play before a crowd.

“I told my mom, ‘If you want me to learn from this teacher, don’t make me join any recitals because I’m not gonna join in it at all,’” he says. “‘It’s either I do a recital and quit piano after or the other way around!’” It was only after his dad made him play in family gatherings that he got used to it. There was even a time when he became the pianist for his organization during a mass at Gesu.

But at the end of the day, Chris’ heart still lies in basketball. He says that should he pursue being a pianist, it would entail him to sacrifice a lot of things—especially time to learn more classical pieces, which he failed to learn early on.

Nikki and Chris are proof that no one should be hindered from going beyond themselves. Chris pointed out that you can’t have it all, but you need to continue exploring your capabilities. As they say, “You can lock the door on talent but time will find the key.” Just wait a while, and who knows? You might be surprised with the other great things you can do!

Visit alt+G to view my article and those of my co-guidoneers as we celebrate "Secrets" as our theme. Finally, the very fun and candid interviews with Nikki and Chris are now  more than just works in progress. The fruits of my labor is now up for people to see and what else can I say but what a way to end my birthday month with a bang?

i was never really good with goodbyes. while i manage to get through some farewells, for most times, i choose not to use the word. maybe that's why i keep my friends for a lifetime. i still keep in touch with my best friend in first grade and i'm still very close with my best friend in fourth grade. my friends in high school they're still the first few people i turn to. and my favorite friends in college, i hope to keep them with me for long as well.

some may say it's so valiant of me to be able to keep such connection with friends. but sometimes i think that maybe, it's also about me fearing of that day when i had to let go of communication and eventually the friendship.

i'm not sure of what i'm driving at here just that i hate goodbyes. i crack with just the thought of it. but what really makes saying goodbye difficult is because we never look that this is the end. we don't wake up the next morning saying "ah, i'm waking up to my final day." subtly, we know any day could be our last. but we don't really consider it. so when it comes down to it, we are fearful because we are unprepared.

so sometimes, to revert the sadness in goodbyes, i consider not involving myself to a lot of relationships. i also try not to be too attached to persons, things, or events. but it's hard. sure, i'm keeping myself safe from the hurt in goodbye but i'm also keeping myself from the possibility of happiness. i guess it's true. the good, the bad, and the ugly--they all come together as a package.

so how do i dissect goodbyes? simple. goodbyes suck (especially when you bid farewell to persons you love or things you enjoy) but some things are wired to end to make space for newer and better things to come. picking up from ellie of one tree hill, "every song ends. is that any reason not to enjoy the music?"

but if we're lucky, we won't have to say goodbye on some things special. and these are generally those that we deserve. so now i'm hoping that the people i have now are the people i deserve (and people who deserve me) for maybe then, i wouldn't have to use the word "bye" on them. perhaps, only "see you later".

***

do or die game on sunday. it could go either way for any team. i am obviously fighting on to the very end but should that be our last, i wouldn't wanna use the phrase "we ended third place" on them. i'd rather say that "we ended at a place where we went beyond our best". it's not everyday a team predicted fifth or sixth before the season started could soar this high.

but i am not retreating. if the eagles deserve this, they wouldn't have to kiss goodbye the title just yet. laban pa.

I have often DREAMED of a far off place
Where a hero’s welcome, would be waiting for me
Where the crowds will cheer when they see my face
And a voice keeps saying, this is where I’m MEANT to be
I’ll be there someday, I can go the distance
I will find my way, if I can be strong
I know every mile, will be WORTH my while
When I go the distance, I’ll be right where I BELONG
Down an unknown road, to EMBRACE my fate
Though that road may wander, it will lead me to you
And a thousand years, would be worth the wait
It might take a lifetime, but somehow I’ll see it through
And I won’t look back, I can go the distance
And I’ll stay on track, no, I won’t accept defeat
It’s an uphill slope, but I won’t lose hope
Till I go the distance, and my journey is complete
But to LOOK BEYOND the GLORY is the hardest part
For a hero’s STRENGTH is MEASURED by his HEART
Like a shooting star, I will go the distance
I will search the world, I will face it's harms
I don’t care how far, I can go the distance
Till I find my hero’s welcome, waiting in your arms
I will SEARCH the world, I will FACE it’s harms.

Everybody's looking for that something
One thing that makes it all COMPLETE
You'll find it in the strangest places
Places you never knew it could be
Some find it in the faces of their children, some find it in their lover's eyes
Who can deny the joy it brings
When you find that special thing
You're flying without wings

Some find it sharing in every morning, some in their solitary lives
You'll find it in the works of others
A simple line can make you laugh or cry
You'll find it in the DEEPEST FRIENDSHIPS
The kind you CHERISH ALL YOUR LIVES
And when you know how much that means
You have found that special thing
You're flying without wings

So IMPOSSIBLE as they may seem
You've got to fight for every dream
'Cuz who's to know which one you LET GO
Would have MADE YOU COMPLETE

But for me it's waking up beside you, to watch the sun rise on your face
To know that I can say I love you at any given time or place

It's the little things that only I know
Those are the things that make you mine, all mine

You're the place my life BEGINS
And you'll be where it ENDS
I'm flying without wings
And that's the joy it brings
I'm flying without wings

Although I doubt it na masusunod ko yan. Hehe

SURVEY #1:

KUNG ANG CRUSH MO AY:

1. Nagtanggal ng t-shirt niya sa harap mo?
* Hindi ko tititigan. Tingin lang. Haha! Sorry pero I don't really enjoy seeing guys purposely taking their shirts off before girls eh.

2. May bagsak na grade?
* Depende kung gaano kalala. Haha! Pero actually, you can't be too judgemental about it eh. So I guess I wouldn't really mind.

3. Naka-3 points sa basketball?
* HAHAHAHA! How fitting. Yun lang coz I guess my friends know how I react to this (and so do a billion others)!

4. Niyaya ka maging prom date niya?
* I don't think this would still be applicable. Gosh. We're old, man!

5. Ay nadisgrasya?
* Shucks. I'll visit him :)

6. Niyaya ka manood ng sine kasama niya?
* Nako naman. Pinagiisipan pa ba yan? :))

* Hala naman. Nakakaloka! Wag biglaan. I might nudge his stomach hard and he'd forever regret the kind of surprise he gave me. Hehe

16. Sinabi sa'yo "I love you"?
* Shit man, lokohan? :)) But I'd probably just stare at him. Yun lang.

17. Nang-utang sa'yo?
* Baka nga ako pa mangutang sakanya. I swear, kaya niyang pag-aralin lahat ng kaibigan ko at swelduhan mga drivers at yaya nila all at the same time :))

18. Hindi binayaran utang niya?
* I doubt he wouldn't but just in case he doesn't, I don't really know eh. Kasi mahina ako sa singilan ng utang =P Count the total amount of debts people have to pay me, it would probably reach thousands :) I don't make singil eh.

Subject:Meme by Ala Paredes
Time:02:29 am
*something Ala made herself :)*

Name: Kath
Age according to your birth certificate: 18
Age you really think you are: I think I'm a bit mature for my age. I think. And I guess that's because most of my friends now are older by two or three years so maybe that's why.

1) What are 5 things you really like about yourself?
- I have a flexible personality without having to fake myself.
- I have a knack for words.
- I'm appreciative of the simplest things on earth.
- I love giving surprises to friends and I always have the urge to make more without asking for anything in return. I like putting smiles in their faces :)
- I always see hope :)

2) What is one accomplishment you are really proud of that you can't ever write down in your resume?
- I've learned to forgive myself and forgive one of my closest friends in high school after a major fight that a lot of people thought ended the friendship. We're now closer than ever... even closer than before. It's an accomplishment to keep the magic in friendship through the years. Besides, isn't it amazing enough to still find the heart to bring back the good in friendship and even better? As they say, it's hard to forgive an enemy but harder with a loved one... while I didn't prove them wrong about the level of difficulty, I think I proved them wrong when they think it's impossible.

3) If you could live a secret life, what kind of secret life would you live?
The life of a Sydney Bristow. Kick ass, man!

4) What is the loveliest thing someone's told you lately?
"He will find you, promise."- Michieboo. Aww :))

5) What is the most supreme act of kindness ever shown to you?
Hmm. This is pretty hard. But I guess it should be something related to making me feel accepted in every aspect :) My friends are everyday reminders of God's supreme kindness so I think I shouldn't be thinking any harder :)

6) What is your inner child wearing right now?
An oversized sleeveless shirt. Shucks, I just love wearing those when I was 5! Haha

7) Describe the very moment you first fell in love.
Well, I don't know if I could call it love, but assuming it is, all I know is that I felt everything is possible. I was very optimistic in a lot of things.

8) Describe your favorite person without using any adjectives.
He/She will be forever affecting in my life.

9) Complete the sentence on your future headstone: "Here lies...."
"... someone who always took the fight 'till the very end because she knows the sun always rises in the end."

10) What movie character would you love to play?
Since Sydney Bristow's character is only good for TV, I may want to play Jennifer Garner's role in one of my favorite movies, "13 Going on 30", Jenna Rink. It may not be the girl who kicks assess, but with the type of job she has plus the fact that she's an empowered woman who puts career first before love, it's very me. Although I also think that the ending of Jenna's story of ending up learning how to find love above anything is else is once again very me. So there. It's pretty much a story of my life. Woeh? :))

11) Describe your perfect birthday cake.
A simple, not too sweet, moist chocolate cake :) That's it. I usually leave it to my family or friends to design it the way they think would fit my personality but really, I'm just after the goodness of the cake :))

12) A stadium of people are clapping for you and giving you a standing ovation. What did you just do to deserve this?
I just gave out another impromptu speech :)

The lucky 13 question: If you were a musical instrument, what instrument would you be and how would you like to be played?
Piano, just because I'm a frustrated pianist. I used to play but then I stopped. When I started playing again, I just won't get the right keys. It quit on me after I quit on it. Haha!

I tag anyone who cares to kill time :)

It's ridiculous, our game schedules. A game on Thursday and then another one tomorrow. It's insane! They're beating up our players. But I know they're back in the second round to sweep it. Either way, we will win tomorrow. Haha! Yes people, believe. Have faith. Take heart.

One game at a time :)

I felt like an adult today. With all the errands, gosh. I think I'm growing beyond my age. Good thing for UAAP. It takes away all the stress, well, not really. It could actually get very stressful during the games but it's my kind of stress.

Sorry for the randomness. I'm just procrastinating Income Tax. Eww. What a dork.

Okay. Just a quick note because I'm supposed to be reviewing my notes for my Labor Law midterms later in the afternoon...

Nakaka-adik mag-upload ng pictures sa Multiply dito sa Matteo!!!

Haha! Sorry, jologs. But I just realized that compared to the speed here, my connection at home is bullcrap. Imagine, I uploaded 20 pictures in one go (all came from an SLR with a 2 MB size average for the set) and they were all completed in 5 minutes. How crazy. And now, I'm uploading a lot of videos in my youtube account already for back-up.

Ahhh... this is life. Amazing to the core.

Now back to Labor Law. Ang dorky bigla, pare.

* Note to the people with me yesterday: The pictures are currently uploaded already but I will be opening them for viewing on Saturday afternoon when they're all in. The pictures we will be shooting next week will be saved for another week of uploads. So don't fret. You'll all be getting your vanity shots and whatnots soon enough. *
